SIGNET is the Gifted Education Program within Prince William County Public Schools and is for students from grades 4 through 12.
SIGNET at Fred Lynn is a pull-out program where identified gifted students attend once a week for acceleration and extension activities in a gifted-only setting. Students have to be found eligible for gifted services through Prince William County Public Schools in order to attend SIGNET.
In order for your child to be evaluated for services, you must complete a permission form and parent report about your child. From there, your child will be given two aptitude tests in addition to providing work samples that show your child's academic strengths. Students will be informed in writing whether they have been placed for services. Students may be evaluated at any point during the school year, but the process may take up to three months to complete.
If you have further questions, feel free to email Ms. Katherine Rowe, Gifted Resource Teacher.
