*ONLINE Learning*
Parents,
This is a great time to review information that we have learned this year through online remediation.  Below are a few online resources that can be used at home to review material we have already learned.  As of now, we have covered everything except for SOL 8.11, 8.12, and 8.13.  Here is a link to the Standards of learning for 8th grade students so that you can review what needs to be re-taught:   http://www.doe.virginia.gov/testing/sol/standards_docs/mathematics/2016/stds/stds-grade8.pdf

-Desmos
- PWCS has associated with DESMOS on many of their learning opportunities above.  Create a free DESMOS account with a google account and it is a great way for students to self pace learning: https://teacher.desmos.com/
-Khan Academy - Khan academy has videos and lessons as well as practice work to review information.  Students can use this and get an integrated lesson and practice with related questions.  You can join for free and practice individually or join my class for structured learning (Class Code: MX5MYHQA): https://www.khanacademy.org/
-Prodigy - Prodigy is an interactive RPG game that allows students to play while they learn.  Throughout the game students will be presented with questions from 8th grade as they learn in a fun way.  Students have a username and log in and if needed, you can email me for this information: https://www.prodigygame.com/
-Quizizz - Quizizz is a great way to practice questions or can be used as an at home assessment as the end of lessons that students have been taught: https://quizizz.com/
-Kahoot - This is similar to quizizz but is used more as a "quick check" because it is timed: https://kahoot.com/
-IXL - IXL is NOT free (maybe it is at this time) but is in line with Virginia SOL's, and provides a curriculum for students to follow each day.  It is one of the better websites to use for enhanced remediation and future learning as it uses a question based approach to educate students.  When students answer incorrectly it provides them with information about their error: https://www.ixl.com/
-VDOE - The Virginia Department of education highlights the main SOL's students are expected to learn and they provide resources corresponding with each Standard of Learning, including practice items and lesson plans for at home parents: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/testing/sol/standards_docs/mathematics/index.shtml
-Google - As funny as it is to say, google has tons of ready made resources for parents if you type in keywords to the search bar.  Google will present you with tons of lessons, videos, worksheets, or if you want to get crazy (at home activities).

Thank you:
