  • Discovery Education - Discovery Education offers student resources through interactive games, videos, contest, virtual labs, and more. (use your Office365 login for access)

  • Find It VA - Access to databases that support teaching and learning across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Students can access these resources from school. A PWC Public Library Card is needed to access from home.

  • World Book Online - PWCS provides access to a number of World Book Online products such as WBO: Student, Dictionary, Atlas, Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos, and more. (Access World Book Online through Clever, if you are at home).


Search Engines

  • Factmonster - Here is another neat site with lots of information about the world around you. Read up on history, learn about what's going on around the country currently, and take quizzes to see how much you know!

  • Ducksters - Do you have a project coming up? Need a little background information about who discovered, invented, or created the thing you're interested in? Check this out! These biographies are full of what you need to know! (Check out the entire Ducksters website to find out about even more cool stuff!)

  • Sweet Search - this search engine is parent and teacher approved! When it comes to research, this site will be an enormous help to you. And you can be confident that the information is accurate and up-to-date.


Education/Informative Sites

  • Thesaurus.com This site is similar to the previous one. A great resource for all things word related. Games to help you get better with vocabulary and more familiar with words in general. Make your own study guides with this one!

  • Merriam-Webster Dictionary This is a very reliable and concise dictionary. Need a definition? This is your place.

  • The Old Farmer's Almanac Look up what weather is coming, special days, interesting facts and general information about the world around you. There is an endless amount of information you can get from this site.

  • The White House We live about 30 minutes from the nation's capital and where lots of important "stuff" goes down? Perhaps you should know a little bit about it! Stay current on what's going on in our region and the nation.

  • National Geographic Kids National Geographic Kids will help you do that from the comfort of your computer or Smart device. Look at pictures and learn amazing facts from around the globe. Make a bucket list of people and places you would like to experience!

  • CIA World Fact Book Just like the White House, the CIA and Langley is rather close by. Find out more about this secret spy agency!
